I came across Mary's portfolio when searching for a wedding photographer and immediately fell in love with her style, composition, soft lighting, and attention to detail. When I shared her website with my (now) husband, it turns out they already knew each other - so it was a no brainer. She was thoughtful, organized, and and incredibly flexible with our schedule... working with us every step of the way. As a new mom, Mary was only taking on a handful of weddings at the time and we were so lucky she agreed to be our photographer. She made our day truly special and was such a joy to be around. Our photos are breathtaking and we wouldn't change a thing. We loved all of our vendors but Mary, in particular, stood out above the rest.

I could write a novel about Mary and the way she has helped us document our baby girl’s first year. She’s just so lovely and talented. You realize the lovely part as soon as you meet her - she instantly makes you feel like you’ve known her forever.  This is super helpful when you’re dealing with camera shy folks like my husband. You’re immediately comfortable around her and the images reflect that. And then there’s my infant daughter. She swaddled her and placed her hand on her little chest. This sent her off to dream land, making Mary a magician in addition to photographer. In all seriousness, you can’t ask for a better person to capture your special moments. She has created art for us that we’ll cherish for a lifetime.

It really is difficult to know where to begin with the praise that Mary deserves. She was truly the most amazing photographer for so many different reasons. The moment I met her, after I had met with two other photographers, I knew she was the one that would not only produce the best work, but the one with whom my husband and I would feel the most comfortable. She was warm, inviting, and passionate. She took the time to get to know us and make us, and those around us, feel comfortable. Mary is everything that I would imagine every bride and groom are looking for in a wedding photographer; relaxed, but efficient, knowledgeable, skillful, and organized. But, more than anything, she does tremendous, top-notch work and she is one of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure working with. Her personal touches are incredible and make all of the difference in the world. I had no idea that a wedding photographer would end up being one of the more important decisions I made about the wedding day. I am glad I made the decision I did by choosing Mary.

“Mary’s laugh and enthusiasm are infectious and inclusive, underlying who she is in real life.  Our times with her are always authentic, spirited and soulful – somehow connecting with our children too!  Her images are about our emotional connections and are polished, yet casual and always show us living in the moment.  We joke that she has become our family photographer, having captured weddings, pregnancies, newborns, for us and our extended family.  She’s a charmer and we love her!”

I was a very particular bride, with a very particular vision, and Mary was the ideal (and only) choice from the moment we spoke. With a background in advertising like myself, I knew she had the creative vision and attention to detail that only art directors can have. Her portfolio demonstrated her ability to tell a story through photography, with the softer, fine art, approach that fit my husband's and my aesthetic. I didn't want generic formal wedding photos, I wanted artwork we could treasure forever, and Mary gave us just that. As a photographer myself (and the one always taking photos among my people), I knew it would take a special someone to make me relax and hand over the task of capturing my moments, my memories. Mary absolutely is that special someone you can trust. Her personality is so calming and energizing at the same time and all of her photos capture the true essence of the subjects in them, which instilled so much confidence in us. Mary never hesitated to think outside of the box for shots and trekked into the woods with us for our engagement shoot, constantly communicating to fully understand any vision. She was so responsive to my (many) questions, was up for anything, the epitome of professionalism, and was adaptive as the schedule changed (even day of!) She had a beautiful relationship with all of my vendors and a natural rapport with my guests that was so touching to witness. Whether it was getting my husband's 3 year old niece to engage with the camera, being playful with his 95 year old grandfather to get just the right twinkle in his eye, or getting my tribe of girls to shine- Mary left a lasting impression on everyone. We've all been to weddings where the photographer was in the way, disorganized, or sadly even rude, but everyone (especially us) loved the energy Mary brought to the evening. As my husband says, she ever present but not obtrusive. She took care throughout the process to understand my "must-haves", documented the sweetest moments that I didn't even get to see, and captured all of the hard work and details of what my vendors and I created. She was the right amount of directive, allowed for more candid capturing than staged moments, and how she composes the frame is simply beautiful. Both my husband and I have insecurities but she made us feel like models; putting us both at ease with being the subjects. Her warmth, laughter, and enthusiasm breathed extra life into the day. After having her referred to us by our wedding planner we hired Mary to document our special day and are ending the process with a friend- so you really can't go wrong!
