I am so pumped to share this wedding with you today! Colleen and Eric celebrated their beautiful wedding in the heart of the Nation's capital on the most beautiful day. The tropical storm from the day before had completely past and the skies were sunny and blue! It could not have been more perfect. Now, there were SO many amazing moments in this wedding so this blog post does have a few extra images... I just couldn't decide! One of my favorite moments from the beginning of the day was Colleen and Eric's first look at the J.W. Marriott. Both of their faces were priceless and their mutual joy to see each other was simply heartwarming. Before the ceremony, we quickly jumped over to the National Portrait Gallery for portraits with the wedding party... quite the appropriate gallery for portraits. ;)

By mid-afternoon we headed over to Sixth and I Synagogue were their beautiful Jewish ceremony was held. The traditions held within a Jewish wedding are probably the most fun and beautiful that I have ever seen. I loved how they showered Eric with love before being dancing up to see his bride in the sanctuary. Friends and family danced all around them and sang such celebratory words to both of them. As for the ceremony, it was so beautiful and touching. The two of them were so excited to be up there and committing themselves to one another.

After the ceremony, we all headed to the reception which was held at The Hamilton Live. An amazing event space where bands from all over the world come to play. It was the best place to set up for their slamm'in party later! I think my favorite part of the whole night was photographing The Hora! It was incredible! I've never seen such excitement and energy in a wedding... it was terrific! I am so happy to have been documenting all these amazing memories for Colleen and Eric... I hope they enjoy these for years to come! xo

A special thanks to my husband, my assistant, and my best friend for being by my side. You are always my hero! ;) xo

Beginning of Everything

Wedding in Richmond, Virginia; St. Bridget Catholic Church and The Commonwealth Club

I love her and that is the beginning of everything.

I am so excited to share this beautiful wedding with you! Meagan and Preston have been one of my most favorite couples ever! We clicked from the moment we met on our engagement shoot back in May... we laughed so much during our shoot. I remember leaving their session thinking I just spent time with some old friends. These two are college sweethearts and are simply perfect for one another.

Now, I knew their wedding day would be special but it exceeded all expectations I may have had... the connection between these two is very sweet and tender. I love to photograph them together and see them laugh together. Magical! The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and their reception was such a BLAST! Their family and friends are the nicest folks and they truly know how to throw one heck of a party too! I hope you enjoy viewing the photos from this beautiful evening. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Lemon for the honor of being your photographer! xo

And a special thank you to David Abel Photography for being my 2nd shooter!

Because of You

Wedding in Hot Springs, Virginia; The Homestead Resort and Ingalls Field Airport

If I know what love is, it is because of you

This weekend's wedding in Hot Springs was absolutely perfect! Caroline and Ty started their wedding day by prepping at the luxurious Omni Homestead Resort and tied the knot at the historic St. Luke's Episcopal Church (built in 1899)! For the reception, it was held at the local Ingalls Field Airport that sits right on top of the Warm Springs Mountain ridge line (about 4000 ft high)! Just a stunning location! Now, let's talk about the decor! Wow! The whole romantic and whimsical decor and design was created by the talented LK Events and Design... so perfect for this August wedding. The real wow factor were the vintage furniture pieces supplied by Paisley and Jade... they really added a lovely warm and eclectic feel to the whole setting. And those center pieces, right?! Those gorgeous wildflower floral designs were by the amazing Petals and Twigs! One of the most beautiful weddings I've attended all year!

The reception kicked off wonderfully with their amazing band, The Jangling Reinharts! They had the party dancing before dinner completely finished! This fun crowd was ready to have a good time! I loved it! Now, one of my favorite moments of the whole evening was when the band sang "Sweet Caroline" and some of the groomsmen raised Caroline line up on their shoulders. I loved watching her smile from ear to ear as the guests sang the lyrics to her... so awesome! It was truly a beautiful and magical night. Thank you Caroline and Ty for the honor of being your photographer! xoxo
